Bao-licious, Food Nation Bao Buns

Bao down to these handfuls of delicious goodness. Full of flavour and popular with all ages.

Method

Heat oil in a large frying pan, add the Food Nation Cauliflower, Turmeric and Ginger balls and cook until caramelised on all sides. Place the hoisin sauce in a bowl and roll the balls into the sauce.

Open the steamed buns up and add cabbage, carrot, and chilli. Sprinkle over sesame seed, peanuts and coriander leaves, squeeze over lime juice and drizzle with Japanese mayonnaise

Ingredients

  • Olive oil
  • 400g pack Cauliflower, Turmeric and Ginger Happy Patties, divided into 4-6 and rolled into small balls
  • 3/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 6-8 bao buns steamed
  • 1 cup red or white cabbage, finely sliced
  • 1 large or 2 small carrots, peeled and julienned
  • 1 red chilli, thinly sliced on the diagonal
  • 1-2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp roasted peanuts, roughly chopped
  • Optional garnishes: Japanese Mayo, fresh coriander, lime quarters
