Sticky Mushroom & Grain Hot Dogs

Lick your fingers and come back round for seconds, sticky sweet onions top off the perfect Super Sausie, Hot Dog combo making it hard not to go again and again – so good!


Heat a pan to medium high heat and add 1 tbsp oil. Add the sausies and cook until caramelised and golden on all sides. Then brush with maple syrup or honey. Meanwhile, heat 2 tbsp oil in a frying pan and cook the onions and mustard seeds until soft and golden. Add the mustard, sugar and vinegar and stir until caramelised.
Heat the oven to 200°C. Warm the rolls through for 5 minutes. Add a sausage in each roll, spoon over the caramelised mustardy onions and serve.


  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • Mushroom & Grains Super Sausies
  • 2 onions, peeled, halved and thinly sliced
  • 2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp vinegar
  • 6 submarine bread rolls, sliced across the top
